With a waterproof and breathable upper, the Puez Mid Powertex from Salewa is built for long-lasting comfort on rugged terrain. The mid-cut trekking boot has a progressive, aesthetic design that provides smooth roll-off and long-lasting comfort for versatile city use or wild mountain terrain. It has an abrasion-resistant upper that has been reinforced with an external toe cap and all-round protective rubber rand with a waterproof and breathable Powertex membrane.

Waterproof, Breathable Powertex Upper

Constructed using an abrasion-resistant mid-cut upper, the Puez Mid Powertex will protect your feet from knocks and bumps on your next hiking adventure. This upper will ensure that the shoes remain lightweight and comfortable whilst also providing a constant level of breathability, preventing overheating and discomfort from occurring. Additionally, a Powertex membrane has been teamed with the durable materials to enhance the level of breathability provided to and from the shoes and ensure excellent weather protection. This waterproof yet breathable membrane helps to prevent your feet from getting wet in poor and changing weather whilst preventing a build-up of sweat and moisture when hiking. Thishelps to keep feet dry and feeling fresh, even on longer adventures. Not only this, but Powertex is also highly sustainable so you can walk in confidence. Additionally, the Puez Mid Powertex features Salewa’s proven 3F System with Kevlar cables to ensure a supportive fit at the ankle with wrapping midfoot stability. This works together with the climbing lacing that runs the whole way down to the toe to further enhance overall stability. Completing the upper of the Puez Mid is an anti-rock heel cup, a reinforced rand and external toe cap. These features add extra durability to the upper and further stability for tricky terrains.

Dual EVA Midsole

A dual EVA midsole resides underfoot for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long-distance days. EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The midsole ensures you’re ready for unpredictable trails and tough terrain. Teamed with a dedicated trekking last, the dual EVA midsole features graded stiffness and softer landing heel cushioning to promote enhanced comfort and a customised fit. Built into the insole, Salewa have included their new Edging Plate II which is a special thermoplastic frame that runs the entire length of the boot. It has been designed to offer a combination of enhanced flex and rebound for long-lasting comfort when hiking. Specific levels of stiffness and flex at the forefoot and heel increase stability alongside a heel stabiliser. Lastly, a recyled, soft customisable CFF footbed works with the included Volume Reducer footbed to provide additional comfort from the first wear.

POMOCA Alpine Trekker Outsole

Featuring a POMOCA Alpine Trekker outsole, the Salewa Puez Mid Powertex offers exceptional grip and traction on technical terrains. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the durable rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber deflects the blows and retains a strong shape and structure. This will mean that the definition and functionality of the outsole will remain strong over a long period of time. Completing the outsole is an S Path design that promotes natural roll-off and a more efficient heel-to-toe transition.

This trekking boot bears the Salewa Committed icon and meets the brands strict criteria for additional sustainability and environmentally-friendly manufacturing. In addition, the covering on the recycled, customizable CFF footbed is made of recycled mesh and the waterproof, breathable membrane is PFC-free.
